Google Updates Gemini AI Design on Web Interface and Android App

Google has implemented a few slight modifications to Gemini’s appearance on both the web platform and the Android application. Although these adjustments are minor, they will enhance the functionality of the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot and present more pertinent information. On the web, the layout of the text field has been altered, and several icons have been moved. The Android app now displays model information, and a Saved Info menu has been included. Saved Info was launched for Gemini last month, enabling the chatbot to retain details about the user.

Google Gemini App Now Shows AI Model Information

The online version of Gemini has now been better synchronized with the app version of the AI chatbot. The alteration in design is minimal and solely influences the text field of the interface. Previously, the Upload Images (for free users) or the Plus icon (for Gemini Advanced subscribers) was situated on the right side of the text field.

Now, however, this icon has been repositioned to the left side. The “Ask Gemini” text is now situated next to the Plus or Upload Images icon. Only the microphone icon remains on the left side. While this may seem like a small modification, it improves the overall tidiness of the text field and decreases the likelihood of accidental taps.

Moving to the Android app of Gemini, it has also undergone some design modifications. For starters, users will now notice the AI model information at the upper part of the screen. When on the homepage, users will observe Gemini Advanced followed by the text 1. 5 Pro, indicating that the current model is Gemini 1. 5 Pro. This information appears between the history and the account menu.

On Pixel devices, the information is substituted with Gemini 1. 5 Flash. Once a user starts a conversation with the chatbot, the Gemini Advanced text is changed to simply “1. 5 Pro”. This was initially identified by 9to5Google. Additionally, the Saved Info menu has now been incorporated into the account menu. However, selecting it directs users to the Saved info webpage in a browser window.
