Yahoo Mail has received a redesign powered by artificial intelligence.
Yahoo highlighted the enhanced features of its latest Mail app in a recent press release. The company has announced that the new app is designed to assist users in managing their inbox effectively and organizing crucial messages. The company employed artificial intelligence and gamification tools to develop this experience, however, they chose not to disclose the specific AI models behind the new features.
Yahoo is now introducing AI-generated one-line email summaries, labeling it as an AI-powered inbox. The summaries are displayed in a preview window, alongside suggested actions that offer response recommendations. The company suggests that this method will enable users to promptly address emails that typically consume their valuable time.
Additional features in the quick-actions interface offer various options such as viewing bills, accessing verification codes, tracking packages, viewing images and attachments, adding events to the calendar, RSVPing to invites, and more. Moreover, users have the option to personalize their notifications by selecting the email categories that hold significance for them.
When it comes to the interface, Yahoo Mail offers a messaging app-style experience, allowing users to easily access mail conversations and respond with just a few taps. The platform provides an AI capability that allows for adjusting the tone of a message to convey professionalism, friendliness, formality, or conciseness. Additionally, users have the option to organize their main inbox with the company’s new feature. Users have the option to arrange their emails by important messages, organizing them based on sender, content, and topics. Moreover, users have the option to unsubscribe from emails sent by a particular sender and delete messages as well.
Yahoo has integrated a gamification element into the Mail app as well. The company has included prompts to gently suggest deleting, archiving, or marking emails as read for users. By utilizing visual prompts, you can easily execute the action with just a single tap. The company has termed it as gamifying the process of cleaning up your inbox.
