Google Rolling Out Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced Model to Paid Subscribers

Google is introducing a new artificial intelligence (AI) model from the Gemini 2. 0 lineup. Known as Gemini 2. 0 Experimental Advanced, this large language model (LLM) will only be accessible to paid subscribers of Gemini. This new model comes shortly after the Mountain View-based technology company released the Gemini 2. 0 Flash model to the Gemini’s Android application. Importantly, the 2. 0 Experimental Advanced model can presently only be accessed on the web version of the AI chatbot.

Gemini 2. 0 Experimental Advanced Model Is Rolling Out

In a blog entry, the technology giant revealed the launch of the second Gemini 2. 0 AI model. The model’s official codename is Gemini-Exp-1206, and it can be selected through the model switcher option located at the top of the chatbot’s web interface. Significantly, only subscribers of Gemini Advanced will be able to choose this model for now.

Although Google has only recently unveiled the new AI model, the name Gemini-Exp-1206 was first noticed last week when the LLM ranked at the top on the Chatbot Arena (previously known as LMSYS) LLM Leaderboard with a score of 1374. It currently surpasses the latest version of OpenAI’s GPT-4o, Gemini 2. 0 Flash, and the o1 series models.

Exclusively available on the web version of Gemini, the new AI model is reported to provide substantial enhancements in performance across complex tasks such as coding, mathematics, reasoning, and following instructions. Google stated it can offer comprehensive multi-step instructions for do-it-yourself (DIY) projects, which previous models have found challenging.

However, the technology giant cautions that the 2. 0 Experimental Advanced model is being offered in early preview and may not always function as anticipated. Furthermore, the AI model currently lacks access to real-time information and will not be compatible with some features of Gemini. The company did not specify which features would be incompatible with the new LLM.

It is important to note that Gemini Live is a component of the Gemini Advanced subscription. Subscriptions can be made through the Google One AI Premium plan, which costs Rs. 1,950 per month after a one-month free trial.
