WhatsApp Begins Testing Sticker Pack Sharing Feature on iOS, Android

WhatsApp recently commenced the rollout of a new functionality to beta testers that enables users to share a sticker pack saved on their device. A month subsequent to its discovery, users who have installed the latest beta releases of WhatsApp on iOS and Android will have the option to select a sticker pack and share it with another WhatsApp user, which will permit them to install the identical pack on their device. Simultaneously, WhatsApp has started permitting select testers to include a message while forwarding material on the messaging service.

WhatsApp Sticker Sharing Feature Relies on Links
Following an update to WhatsApp beta for Android 2. 24. 25. 2 (or higher) and WhatsApp beta for iOS 24. 24. 10. 72 through the Google Play beta program and TestFlight, correspondingly, testers will gain access to a newly introduced feature in the sticker section of the messaging application. These updates were identified by feature tracker WABetaInfo.

Beta testers will now observe a new three-dot icon while navigating through sticker packs that are available on WhatsApp. Pressing this icon presents two choices: Send and Remove. If a user opts to share a sticker pack, WhatsApp will create a link to that sticker pack, and users can choose a recipient before clicking the send button.

Currently, it seems that the capability to share complete sticker packs is confined to those within WhatsApp. The feature tracker provided screenshots of the sharing capability on WhatsApp for iOS and Android, while demonstrating the built-in ‘Cuppy’ sticker pack.

Another feature that is being rolled out to beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android 2. 24. 25. 3 is the ability to incorporate a message while forwarding content. An image shared by the feature tracker illustrates how a new message area appears after users choose contacts while forwarding media within the app.

Gadgets 360 was not able to test both of these features on the designated versions of WhatsApp beta for Android or on later testing versions that were issued by the company, including the WhatsApp beta for Android 2. 24. 25. 12 beta build that was distributed to testers on Thursday. This indicates that the features are being launched in stages.
